At first glance this airport could easily be mistaken for a cozy "Cabin in the Woods," but the flight operator Direktflyg has 2 flights to Stockholm Arlanda and back, monday to friday. The first is in the morning and the second in the late afternoon, convenient for a days work in Stockholm. Actually, the route is Torsby-Hagfors-Arlanda.
I have travelled quite a lot and seen airports like McCarran, Las Vegas, Schiphol, Amsterdam and ..off the beaten track like Vientiane (Wattay) Laos, but Hagfors Airport is my favorite. Check-in is a breeze, coffee, hot chocolate and cookies are FREE (not 10 USD, ) there are complimentary newspapers and the knowledgeable staff gives you a smile every time. "Diamond VIP lounge" for every passenger!
The flight to Stockholm Arlanda- operated by Direktflyg -is a comfortable 45-50 minutes journey in a Jetstream 32 aircraft- so you always get your luggage in 5 minutes when you arrive at ARN.
It would not be fair to give this airport, and the flight operator alike, anything less than five stars. Visit Hagfors, enjoy the wilderness, the green forests and blue lakes and let this airport give your trip a golden lining!!
